Sarasota Jungle Gardens: rescued animals, green gardens
Jungle Gardens offers a sanctuary for rescued, donated and sometimes abused animals. Here at the gardens they are given a new life filled with love. You'll see alligators, snakes, crocodiles, exotic birds, free-roaming flamingos, prairie dogs and more.
Animal shows include Birds of the Rain Forest, Reptile Encounter, Birds of Prey and Critters & Things. You can also pose with an alligator at the gardens.
Kids at Jungle Gardens will enjoy not only the animals, but also the haunted tree, tiger swings, fun slides, the train and the playground.
Animal loving children may want to celebrate their birthdays at the fun-filled gardens. You can bring your own food in for your party or order something from the park. You can pay extra for an animal demonstration to get up close and personal with the animals.
If you're looking for a fun summer camp for your kids, check out the Summer Zoo Camp that runs through June and July.
Sarasota's Jungle Gardens has been open since 1940. Throughout the gardens you can feed the flamingos right from your hand.
View the calendar of events at the Jungle Gardens so you don't miss out on the fun. For information on volunteering at the gardens or animal adoption, visit the website. To further support the garden, you can buy a brick to be engraved with your name for the gardens' walkway.
