Mote Marine Lab & Aquarium - (941) 388-4441

We visited Mote while in FL and was perfect for our 4 year old son (husband and I loved it as well). It is a research aquarium, and the exhibits are quite managable in a day. Very clean, and the Deep Sea Diner was the perfect stop for some ice cream!

If you come here expecting a SeaWorld-type show, you will be disappointed. If you come here to learn about the local marine environment, the challenges it faces, how you can help, and what is being done to rehab the environment and individual animals you will be delighted. Gail M.

This place is very educational and fun for everyone. Small kids or big kids will have fun watching the fish, turtles, sharks or what ever they have at the moment. They have all kinds of different hands on areas, educational movies and informative staff.
