Hello. What to say in my self summary...... here we go.

I started darting around the world when I was seventeen, I love traveling. I've lived in China for a while when I thought I wanted to be a doctor of Chinese medicine, but things changed. I also love music. I began playing music at the age of ten, starting with the saxophone. That eventually lead to the piano, then to turntables, then back to the piano, but treating it this time, then to guitar, but table top, this lead to tape loops and minimalist composing, then to pop music but with a classical bend, now back to classical.......... or something like that. Music is still my creative output, but I study French and Russian literature and am in the long process of eventually getting my doctorate in comparative literature. It's maddening at times, but so much fun.

I have a tendency to say outrageous things, or ridiculous things, or completely random things. I don't care if you're laughing at me or with me, as long as you're laughing! Honesty is a HUGE thing with me, so don't ask a question unless you're prepared for the answer. I've been in Sarasota for a couple of months and don't know a lot of people outside of work. I'm coming to the realization that it's difficult to meet lesbians unless you already know lesbians. I hadn't realized it would be so hard to meet people! It probably doesn't help that I'm shy (although no one ever believes me when I tell them that.)

I'm recently out of a relationship and not looking to jump into another one. I just want to meet some people, hang out, and have fun. I wouldn't be opposed to the idea of a relationship in the future, but I'd like to establish a foundation of friendship first. I know it's a crazy concept in the lesbian community, but I'm not a "U-Haul" kind of girl. In my experience, that does't turn out very well.

Three of my goals in life are to skydive (despite my fear of heights), to learn how to scuba, and to complete a thru-trail (i.e. the AT)... I moved to the area not so long ago and I have my awesome mellow mutt to keep me company. As I gain more experience in my career, I'm ready to meet more people, make more friends, and take a chance on what I hope will be a great relationship. I enjoy traveling, hanging out in a coffeeshop somewhere, watching a movie, or catching the sunset on a beach. I am a church-goer and God is very important to me. I am a small business owner and in professional practice. I am on a few local civic boards. That's what I am doing with my life and those endeavors keep me pretty busy. Some friends/family have met spouses and other significant others online. I have also been fortunate enough to have met a few really nice and quality friends/ relationship online over the past few years and decided to give it a try. I heard positive things about okcupid from some female friends and was intrigued. I like the idea that it is free because it makes it more readily accessible to everybody and fees are more of an annoyance than anything else. My name is Ricardo. And here's my attempt in trying to make myself sound sane and super awesome:

Usually silly topics are at the center of my conversations, for example, bowel movements. Hilarious. I also enjoy sprinkling those conversations with exaggeration, sarcasm and last but not least sound effects. I enjoy making people laugh, and if I have to use everything at my disposal so be it. Something I'm currently working on is my dead pan humor, which backfires because people will believe me completely and then I have to crush their hopes, "No, unicorns don't exist. Man..." Also, not blinking when having a staring contest, a little tricky I know, but its possible. Life, its a work in progress.

I've been drawing from as far I can remember and honestly its my one true calling in life, I don't know what I'd do if it weren't for art. I haven't been creating as much of it as of late, but hopefully that'll change now that I'm finally attending Ringling College of Art & Design. I'm currently a sophomore majoring in illustration. I really enjoy doing sculpture and printmaking the most but I pretty much dabble in everything else. There are so many things I'd like to do in the art field in the future, it hurts thinking about it. But as long as I'm creating for a living, I'll be happy.

Honestly, I'm a nerd.. and the following will prove that. I love watching cartoons (its a pity they just don't make them like they use to). I watch a lot of movies and I'm proud to say at one point I knew all the lines to The Fellowship of the Ring. I knew the majority of the other two as well, but since the first one is my favorite it. Anyways, I know, ladies, you're impressed. I play a lot of video games. I use to be a hardcore Nintendo fan but as I've gotten older I've enjoyed Sony and Microsoft just as much. I really like buying toys, can't get enough of them. If theres a toy section in a store, that's what I'm going to go check out first. I get a kick out of impersonating voices and sounds. Did I mention I still buy toys? But in the end I haven't been living under a rock and my ears don't bleed if I hear curse words. And my social skills while not super awesome, I'd say I've fared just fine. So.. that pretty much evens out my nerdomismness..... right? Maybe? Conan O'Brien, Batman, Optimus Prime, Hellboy and Mario are my heroes.

I've been living here in Sarasota for almost 5 months now. Moved up here from Miami with my younger sister for school. While work and school does keep me pretty busy, it'd be nice to find myself a nice lady friend to make laugh and give flowers to and when needed, back rubs.
