Brookside Middle School Reviews

Brookside is awesome and i highly recommend it. IB is awesome and we have great activities for student who get 3.0 gpa and higher! also great after school programs and staff!

Brookside is a really great school. I loooovveee the activies there.

I am going to this school right now, and I am enjoying every minute of it. I highly recommend the International Baccaulaureate Program for any 5th grader going to this school next year. At first you may seem uneasy about starting middle school, but once you come here, you will be glad you did!

An awesome school with kind, great teachers and staff.

I recomend this school highly. I recomend the ib program. Its an awsome school with kind, great teachers and staff. Thats why im going to come back here next year to 8th grade.

I think this is a great school for my child to go to. I like the organization and the amount of corage to teach my kid and I love that [they] get her on task and ready for high school.

im going to that school next year and i heard it was great

I went to brookside from 6th until 8th grade and it was amazing. I reccomend AofT to any student. The only thing is that the last year i was there they began to get very tuff on every student like making them tuck in their shirts, it is annoying and they need to take that rule away.

I am an 8th grader here at Brookside and have been since 6th. I would not recommend this school to anybody. In 6th grade, I had really great teachers on the Aim6 team. I was challenged and if I needed help they would be welcome to. School is meant for learning and a little social time but this school only focuses on behavior. The current principle Mrs. Rose is not really involved with the students.

This school has surprised my whole family. My daughter left Phillippi Shores, which was an amazing school, in order to start middle school. I had concerns about her feeling comfortable with the change, about me feeling that she was safe, and about the quality of her new teachers. Well, I am thrilled to have her at Brookside. She is very comfortable and is happy with her teachers. She is in Aim6 and has a lot of homework, which is wonderful. The work that they assign is interesting and challenging! This school gets our vote!

Brookside has a good reputation and serves the average student well. However they are very cautious when it comes to challenging gifted students and stimulating gifted resources are not available. For example they would rather say here`s 5 extra worksheets than just give a child 1 worksheet that makes them think.

Brookside is a good school. We're happy that our son is improving academically and socially. The environment is nice. What we don't like are the school hours. I have to wake up my daughter at 5:30 in the morning even she does not attend Brookside in order to take my son to school on time. Then, at 2:00 o'clock it is impossible that any parent can leave work to pick up his/her kid. The administration should change that. There are many parents that have siblings in elementary school which don't start until nine o'clock. Those hours can be too difficult for many parents who have other kids in elementary schools

We relocated to Sarasota from Pennsylvania, where my 7th grade daughter attended a 'Blue Ribbon' school. We have been so impressed with Brookside. Seeing our daughter improve academically, as well as socially, has been a huge relief for us. My husband and I are extremely impressed with the quality of teachers and administration.

I'm a former student of Brookside, and this school was such a nightmate experience for me that I had to drop out and attend a private school. The bullying was too much to stand, and the administration couldn't care less.
