Pine View School Reviews

I graduated from PV in 1980 and now both my children are there. It is a great school because of its incredible faculty, its supportive and visionary administration and a super collection of students and parents who are willing to go the extra mile.

Pine View was a wonderful experience as a student. The scope of opportunity for academic exploration is unparalleled.

Our family loves this school. Is there more homework? Absolutely. Is it worth it? Absolutely. 97% of PV students go on to college, but more importantly, this is a place where gifted kids feel at home.

I was a student at Pine View and I had no comfert. We had 3-4 hours of homework every single night--even on weekends! You may think, 'Oh it's just one coment' and yeah it is but for your childs sake please consider what I've said. I had nervous break-downs every night over a math problem!!!!!

The teachers are very well qualified and it is evident by the students' test scores and other academic success that they are effective. There are more opportunities at Pine View in terms of clubs, advanced classes, and learning outside of the classroom.

I am a student at Pine View and I don't think it could get any better. The teachers are great, students are great, and if your kid has a hard time here, they must not be working the program correctly. Don't think this school s all fine and dandy because it's deffenitly not. Home work, don't even get me started!!! It's hard!!! But you will be more than pleased with this school. Kids in elementry do get to change classes and they do mingle with high schoolers and junior high schoolers but there is no scence of bullying anywhere, so your kid should have a wonderful time.

I'm a Pine View graduate and couldn't be more proud. I'm so thankful that I was able to attend such an amazing school.

I am a sophomore at Pine View, and have been attending Pine View since the 5th grade. It is an amazing school, where 'nerds' of all ages can co-mingle in perfect harmony. The admissions process is simple, classes are fairly basic, and it honestly isn't as hard as some people would like others to think it is. I get A's in class, and still have time to go to rock concerts with my friends.

I am currently a freshman attending Pine View School, and honestly could not be more proud of being part of this community. The most enlightening aspect of Pine View are the people in it. Surrounded by grades 2-12, we develop very close relationships with our peers, teachers, and other staff. At Pine View, there really is no segregation between students... especially once you enter high school, believe it or not. We all work INSANELY well together and everyone is accepted for who they are. You don't have to be a geek or a nerd to attend Pine View, unless you consider loving to learn a characteristic of 'nerd.' To me, that's just a smart student! One thing I will mention is that you should not come to Pine View and expect not to work- it is a CHALLENGING school! I come home with around 5 hours of homework every night.

My duaghter started pinview in 5th grade this year and we couldn't be happier. It's refreshingly challenging with alot of unique curriculum. She has really learned alot and loves the challenge. She also loves the independence of changing class and going to lunch, eating outside with friends is great. They have recess (fields) everyday and can also use this time to study or see the teachers if needed. The kids are taught responsibility for their work which helps prepare them for the upper grades. My daughter has had no problems with upper classman or bullying. Overall we are very pleased!

I gave Pine View School an 'average' rating, because there is no 'WOW' factor. In my opinion, the best part of Pine View is that gifted students are motivated by working with other gifted students.

Im currently attending Pine View School for the Gifted, Im in 9th grade and have been going their since 2nd grade. Bottom line, I love it, compared to area middle and high schools there is absolutely no fighting, no drugs, and no bullying or peer pressure. It makes life as a student a whole lot easier and it helps students to focus on learning. For those of you who think Pine View is not challenging your child is probably not doing their work the right way or at all. Possibly, the elementary program is easy but wait it will meet your expectations. Finally, this school is rated 6th in the nation it cant get much better than that!

This school is HIGHLY recomended. The currliculum is tough enough for the kids, and if it is not they are given extra work. Parent's complain about PineView's campus where the elementary children are exposed to middle schoolers and high schoolers. They expect no bullying or bossing around. The kid's do get told to move but that's a part of life. It would eventually happen. This school is VERY good for middle schooler's because of the sports, but the high schooler's should have sports too and a football team and cheersquad would be nice.

I am sorry, but the currliculum at this school is not tough enough. It doesn't challenge students at all.

I love this school! I've been going here since 2nd grade, and absolutely adore the environment! All the teachers are very skilled, though some are a tad too strict, and cause many children stress and anxiety (such as myself..). It's an open campus, and a stimulating environment for you gifted child. Although it's extremely hard to get in, you'll be happy if u do!

Elementary kids are scheduled just as a middle school student; they circulate from class to class without supervision. Elementary and high school kids do intermingle. There is some sense of bullying, teasing, etc. Maybe my expectations were too high, but there doesn't seem to be a great deal of emotional support.

If your child is gifted this is a great choice. Pine View is challenging and really brings out the best in their gifted students. The goals are to inspire and bring out the best in gifted students, not just pile on work. Students come from all over the world to attend Pine View. It is an excellent school
