Sarasota Florida Music
It's somewhere around five o'clock, and a visit to Florida usually brings a guitar stand to the sounds of Sarasota Bay and its inhabitants. From June to September, the grounds open to music on Fridays - and guests enjoy live music with views of Sarasota Bay. Locals and tourists come together to play music, dance and hoist hula hoop hoops, socialize and of course, to Celebrate until it's about five o'clock.
There's live music, ambience and crowds, and you can expect a warm, moonlit Sarasota night. Enjoy the melodies and branches of the native flora while the night air is underlined with music - filled air. Relax while you enjoy your meal, or enjoy a melody or a branch of native Floridians, as you might wish, in the warm moonlight of a Sarasota night, accompanied by the sounds of music.
The show's experience includes collaborations with the Sarasota Performing Arts Center, the University of Florida and Florida State University. Myers is the band's lead singer and songwriter and a member of the orchestra. Solo performances include a solo performance at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival and a performance at Madison Square Garden in New York City.
Since 1991 he has performed with the Naples Philharmonic and Florida Orchestra and is also principal opera percussionist with the Miami Symphony Orchestra. He has performed as a soloist with the Sarasota Orchestra and Co. - with Florida State University and the Orchestra of the Arts of the University of Florida.
He has performed at dozens of jazz festivals, including the New York Jazz Festival, the New Orleans Jazz and Blues Festival and the San Francisco Jazz Fest. He has toured with Broadway shows and has performed as a soloist with the Los Angeles Philharmonic and Florida Symphony Orchestra, as well as with the Florida Orchestra.
Fortner's latest project, Moxie Productions, brings electronic dance music from hip-hop, funk, reggae, rock, soul, country and more to the Gator Club every second Wednesday of the month. The Gators Club also hosts other bands during the week, so check out their band - if you're in town.
On Saturday, the Whole Band will perform, offering a mix of hip-hop, funk, reggae, rock, soul, country and more. On Saturday, the "Whole Band" will perform, offering a smorgasbord of pop, jazz, blues and country from around the country and the world, plus a bit of rock'n "roll from the East and West Coast and a bit of everything in between. On Saturday, the "Wholesome Band" performed, offering a mix of hip-hop, funk, reggae, rock, soul and music from the US and beyond.

A smoky barn - like the dive in Bradenton, this cavernous salon is one of the few local venues where tour groups regularly dive in and a great place to take your trip. Find an open-air stage where you can bring the children along and enjoy an acoustic set. It is hard to imagine a better place for a live music festival than the Manatee County Convention Center, but luckily Sarasota - Manatese has several options. This is the simple waterhole that makes up the North Trail shows at Ringling College.
JDub Brewing Company used to have concerts at their own annual festival, but now they are hosting an annual show at the Sarasota Fairgrounds, headlined by the Gainesville ska darlings for the past two years. They have more concerts throughout the year, including a recent show featuring local favorites like Dixie Chicks, D.O.A.S.E. and more.
Five o'Clock Club has won several awards, including the title of "Best Place to Hear Local Bands" from Sarasota Magazine in 2016. Schaefer has also worked to keep live music alive in the city, with events such as the annual Sarasota Music Festival and the Sarasota Sky, where he used to promote a show, still going on. Sarasota Opera House hosts concerts by local artists such as Dixie Chicks, D.O.A.S.E. and Gunnar Hahn, as well as other local bands.
Stottlemyer Smokehouse features rising stars such as the talented Americana solo artist, who now performs as part of the Allman Betts Band. The extremely lively drummer is currently in great demand on the southwest coast of Florida.
Fogartyville is a great base for following all the music events that take place in Sarasota on any given evening of the weekend. Friday nights and bonus Saturdays mean there are plenty of great shows on the weekend, as well as a host of special events in between.
