Just over an hour north of Sarasota, the TECO Manatee Viewing Center is home to a ton of manatees in their natural habitat. One of them is known as the Big Cat Sanctuary and it is a great place for you to experience Sarasotas and its surroundings.
Visit the Mote Marine Laboratory and Aquarium to see the manatees and see the great water skiing performance of Sarasota Ski A - Rees.

Sarasota's jungle gardens are truly amazing and offer over 70 miles of the historic Tamiami Trail. With a variety of animals including lions, tigers, leopards, bears and other wildlife, it is a great place for children to take in their animals.
If you want to experience the beauty of Sarasota but don't fancy hiking on the beach, kayaking or baking in the sun, the Marie Selby Botanical Garden is perfect. The First Friday Gallery Walk is one of the free activities that can be done on Siesta Key and Sarasotta every first Friday of the month from 5 to 7 pm.
One of my favorite things to do in Sarasota, just an hour south of Tampa, is kayaking through the mangrove tunnels at Lido Key and sipping on the skyline from the rooftop bar of the Art Ovation hotel. Spend a day of your time in eastern Sarasota County to experience the amazing activities of this state park. Myakka River State Park is one of the most popular parks in Florida, located east of Sarasotta. Myakska River Tours allow tourists to experience the beauty of Florida's rivers.
No trip to Sarasota for children would be complete without spending at least a few hours at Siesta Beach. Even if you don't stay in Siera Key, you still have enough time to relax on the beach and do all the things we did in SarasOTA.
Turtle Beach will put some of the free activities in Sarasota back on the next visit. It's something we'll do in the future as a fun family thing.
