Guns stolen from SWAT deputy's unlocked car

SARASOTA, Fla. (AP) - A Florida sheriff's SWAT team member had firearms and other equipment stolen from his unlocked car.

The Sarasota County Sheriff's Office said Wednesday that a detective discovered Tuesday morning that a handgun, rifle and several pieces of specialized equipment were stolen from his car, which was parked in his driveway.

The detective is an 18-year member of the sheriff's office. An internal affairs investigation has been launched.
